Make-Ahead Easter Morning Breakfast

Eating Well
The first thing my kids do Easter morning is beeline to their Easter baskets. This is the one day a year that I allow them to eat candy for breakfast. I am not alone in this little indulgence -- turns out most of the moms that I polled said the same thing.
After they have had their way with the baskets, we go on an egg hunt (searching for the eggs we hard-boiled, dyed, and hid the the night before).

The thing is, now all that sugar has really kicked in, they need real food, and fast. Here are some make-ahead breakfasts for Easter morning, so you already have something ready to go when the kids start bouncing off the wall on sugar highs.

I fill plastic eggs w/candy and hide them outside after my girls go to bed. They wake up, eat candy (few pieces), eat breakfast (this year an angel food cake w/pudding & fruit-celebration cake for Jesus), after all that we get dressed then go to noon Mass. After Mass we go to my mother in laws, hide/hunt eggs, eat, then wait till we get to go home)
