Cinco de Mayo Recipes

Rosa MexicanoCinco De Mayo commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. (It is not, as many people think, Mexico's Independence Day, which is actually September 16.) It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state of Puebla, and in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population.
We've noticed the celebration gaining popularity nationwide, however, regardless of population. Perhaps because none of us needs much an excuse to eat Mexican food and drink margaritas?
So when the KitchenDaily editors wanted ideas for spicing up their Cinco de Mayo parties, we realized there's no place better to turn to than the famed Rosa Mexicano restaurant for fresh twists on traditional Mexican-American cuisine.
