Adam MacchiaIn his series Marcus' Kitchen, chef Marcus Samuelsson shares dozens of recipes that prove "American" cuisine is really a delicious melting pot that draws upon flavors from all over the world.
In this video, Marcus shares one of his mother's recipes from his childhood in Sweden. Open-faced fish sandwiches are one of the hallmarks of Swedish cuisine, and in his salmon sandwich, Marcus incorporates an ingredient he says he ate every day until he was 20 years old: dill. His salmon salad is loaded with lots of traditional Swedish flavoring agents like honey mustard, lime juice and caper berries. Can't find caper berries? Marcus says regular capers will do just fine.
