Stephen DevitaKids are a natural in the kitchen. So if you're hosting a birthday party, let the children make their own fun refreshments! Gino Campagna creates adorable tea sandwiches and festive individual birthday cakes with the assistance of his young kitchen helpers. Every kid will love creating their own edible celebration.
To start the party, Gino gives the kids a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, and condiments like ketchup and mayo. The kids cut fun shapes out of their slices with mini cookie cutters, then add the toppings they like, creating tea sandwiches in the shape of stars and moons.
For dessert, Gino starts with a plain yellow sheet cake, then cuts out individual rounds with a cookie cutter. The kids add chocolate and vanilla pudding and fresh fruit like bananas and strawberries, then top their creations with another layer of cake. The finishing touch? A thick layer of fresh whipped cream and fresh berries.
