Ray KachatorianThere are many occasions that make us want to whip up a bowl of guacamole -- the Super Bowl, Cinco de Mayo, Friday night -- but no matter what the event, one thing remains constant: at the end of the day, our serving bowls have been wiped, dipped and spooned clean.
Traditionally, guacamole, an avocado-based dip, was made simply with just mashed avocados and salt. Today, more conventional preparations include tomatoes, onions, lime juice and herbs, and both everyday cooks and chefs alike have experimented to introduce other ingredients into their guacamole recipes.
