There are many occasions that make us want to whip up a bowl of guacamole -- the Super Bowl, Cinco de Mayo, Friday night -- but no matter what the event, one thing remains constant: at the end of the day, our serving bowls have been wiped, dipped and spooned clean.

Traditionally, guacamole, an avocado-based dip, was made simply with just mashed avocados and salt.
