making vegetables special and fun for kids

Getting kids to eat their fruits and veggies is not always easy -- and sometimes we face the same challenge as adults. Whether it's convincing little ones to get their daily servings, or nudging a meat-and-potatoes-only kind of guy to increase his intake of greens, we could all use some tips on how to make fruits and vegetables seem more special.

We caught up with some women on street to find out how they make fruits and vegetables seem like more than just "the healthy stuff in the fridge," and their answers indicate it's all about the presentation. One mom serves vegetables in a flower or makes a design with them on her child's plate, while another sprinkles broccoli with Parmesan cheese and calls it "snow-covered trees." Another mom sticks to name games, too, offering up "super strawberries" and "amazing asparagus" to her family.
