There's something so appealing about foods on a stick and eating them with your hands. It probably stems from our animalistic instinct around the time we discovered fire. Plus it's just so easy to assemble and cook. Often the only flavorings involved are salt and pepper or sometimes a marinade. You have the choice of eating kebabs off the skewer or wrapping it in a flatbread, like lavash or pita.
