We take a look back at our dads' favorite foods to help us craft the perfect Father's Day meal.
What Your Dad Really Wants to Eat on Father's Day
My dad loves salmon and all things seafood!
When I was growing up, we'd go to my grandparents' house for Father's Day and grill out on their patio. We loved having hamburgers and "grandpa's hot dogs," which basically just meant hot dogs sliced down the middle and grilled. Now that the kids in my family aren't quick as picky, we like grilling shrimp and fish with my dad at home.
Carrot Osso Buco
Get your dad to try something completely out of the ordinary this Father's Day. In this playful vegan take on osso buco, very large pieces of carrots are braised in red wine and mushroom broth until tender. Ground dried porcini mushrooms give the dish rich, meaty flavor.

My dad has an ice cream obsession. If it is served in a cone, he will most definitely go back for seconds, and if it's a shake, he will always order the biggest size, and when it's gone, wish he had more.
As I got older, it didn't take me long to realize that this love for ice cream (and a lot of it) came from my grandpa who I've seen request seconds at our local ice cream shop more than once.
