May 29, 2014 is the day that will change ice cream history. Well, in the Big Apple, that is. Dairy Queen is opening its first ever Manhattan location!

The beloved ice cream joint is located at 54 West 14th street. The first 50 paying customers will receive a $60 gift card and the first 200 will receive a DQ t-shirt.  Dairy Queen has other New York locations in Massapequa and the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, but the Manhattan Queen is also the only two-story DQ Grill & Chill in the country.

The new Dairy Queen will offer the classic soft serve ice creams including Blizzard Treats, cakes, cones and sundaes in addition to the Orange Julius®, its signature line of fruit-blended drinks. John Gainor, president and CEO of International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ) said that it was well worth the wait. He stated, “Our fans have been requesting that we open in Manhattan so we are thrilled to finally be here. We invite everyone to celebrate with us today and enjoy DQ® signature treats and our full food menu.”
