Heat oven to 400°F. Have 2 cookie sheets ready.

Beat half-and-half and egg in a small bowl with a fork until blended.

Mix flour, baking powder and baking soda in a medium-size bowl. Add butter and cut in with a pastry blender or rub in with fingertips until mixture resembles cornmeal. Add apricots and sugar; stir with a fork until mixed. Add egg mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.

Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface and pat into a 9-inch circle (dough will be sticky). Cut circle in 12 wedges.
