Put marinade ingredients and ribs in a gallon-size zipper-type food-storage bag. Press out air, seal and turn to mix marinade. Refrigerate at least 3 hours, but not more than 24, turning bag occasionally.

To grill or broil: Grill 4 to 6 inches above hot coals, turning and brushing with marinade once, 6 minutes for medium-rare. Broil on broiler-pan rack 4 to 6 inches from heat source, cooking as directed.

Sprinkle with seeds before serving.

These ribs are also called flanken-style short ribs or Oriental-style short ribs (not to be confused with beef short ribs). Each rib should have 3 crosscut rib bones and be from 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick. If you don’t see them in the meat case, you can special-order them from the butcher.

I love this recipe! (Asian Beef Rib/Short Ribs)

My daughter did it once, and it was so delicious, I had to make it myself.

I added a little of my own Island spice...and
um um um great!!!
