Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces, season with pepper and salt. Set aside.

In 10-inch skillet, combine contents of seasoning packet, rice, water and olive oil. Bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer 13 minutes.

Uncover skillet, add chicken, asparagus, red peppers and squash. (Do not stir.) Cover, continue cooking until chicken is cooked through, about 14 minutes.

Remove skillet from heat. Stir well and let stand covered 5 minutes.

To serve, sprinkle with cheese and basil, if desired.
