Heat oven to 375°F. Have baking sheet(s) ready.

Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in a large bowl with mixer on medium speed 1 to 2 minutes until fluffy. Beat in eggs, baking soda and salt until combined. Add flour and beat on low speed until blended. Stir in mini Hershey’s Kisses and M&M’s mini baking bits.

Drop rounded tablespoons dough about 11⁄2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheet(s).

Bake 8 to 9 minutes until edges are golden brown. Cool on sheet 1 to 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

This recipe looks great, but I have to say that Cook's Illustrated really did develop the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever tried. And I've tried them all! Check it out for yourself: http://inthekitchenwitheva-eva.blogspot.com/2011/05/cooks-illustrated-chocolate-chip.html It's a bit involved but the result is really worth the effort.
