Grilled Sweet Potatoes

Heat a charcoal or gas grill to medium-high heat and put the rack about 4 inches from the heat source; keep part of the grill cool for indirect cooking. Brush or drizzle the sweet potatoes with oil until coated and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Cook the potatoes over indirect heat, turning occasionally, until the flesh is very tender all the way through and the outsides are golden, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve hot, at room temperature, or chilled, with lemon wedges if you like.
