Lemon Iced Gingerbread
Would you say this recipe is...
+ VOTE NOWDark, moist gingerbread is dolled up with easy lemon icing. Gradually adding the milk to the icing will let you chose between a gooey frosting or icing trickling down the sides like icicles.
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F with rack in middle. Butter and flour a 9-inch cake pan, knocking out excess.
Whisk together flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
Bring butter and cream to a boil in a small saucepan and set aside.
Beat together brown sugar and molasses with an electric mixer until combined. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Beat in butter mixture then stir in dry ingredients.
Spread in pan and bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before icing.
Whisk together lemon juice and confectioners sugar until combined. Gradually add milk to desire consistency and spread over top of cooled cake.

Absolutely fabulous. Followed the recipe exactly. It turned out perfectly... and was thoroughly enjoyed by all my guests. Will make it many times again.
