Here is a basic risotto recipe that tastes rich and delicious.  You can customize it with your own add-ins, or enjoy it as is.

Directions

Cook the rice and garlic in a 2-quart nonstick saucepan over medium-high heat for 2 minutes or until the rice is browned, stirring often.

Add 1/2 cup broth and cook and stir until the broth is absorbed. Add the remaining broth 1/2 cup at a time, stirring until all the broth is absorbed and the rice is tender and creamy, about 25 minutes in all.

Stir in the pepper and cheese.
