In a hurry?  Try this savory, sizzling stir-fry that's ready in less time than it would take to order take-out.

Ingredients

Serves: servings

    • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Beef Consommé
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 boneless beef sirloin steak , 3/4-inch thick (about 1 pound), cut into very thin strips
    • 1 1/2 cup fresh or frozen broccoli florets
    • 1 medium onion , cut into wedges
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 4 cup hot cooked rice

Directions

Stir the cornstarch, consommé and water in a small bowl until the mixture is smooth.

Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat.  Add the beef and stir-fry until well browned.  Push the beef to one side of the skillet.

Add the broccoli, onion and garlic to the other side of the skillet and stir-fry until tender-crisp.

Stir the cornstarch mixture in the skillet.  Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens.  Serve the beef mixture over the rice.

Ingredient Note: To make slicing easier, freeze the beef for 1 hour before slicing.

I didn't see any spice recommendations......is that an oversite or do we just roll the dice in the spice cabinet?

Bland - just stir fry the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and you"ll get some flavor

My houghts too laurynca, I don't see any onions in the pic. It is quite obvious to me that the broccoli was cooked separately. It is very sad that someone would go this far just to sell a can of an advertisers consomme. SAD, SAD, SAD. 810 mg of sodium per can.

I agree with everyone's comments. It sounds horrible and no Asian-inspired flavors...sesame oil? Ginger? Anything besides salty soup?

Uh, where are the Asian seasonings?? Might want to marinate in some of those for a few hours at least.

You got to be kidding. The beef will be SO TOUGH you need stainless steel teeth to chew.
Has the author of the recipe actually cooked this dish and eaten it?
