Soft Cumin-Garlic Breadsticks
Would you say this recipe is...
+ VOTE NOWUsing frozen pizza dough makes baking up breadsticks absurdly simple. No one will know your secret though: We've amped up the flavor with cumin seeds and fragrant garlic oil.
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to 375F with rack in middle and lightly oil a large baking sheet.
Gently roll out dough to a 10-inch square on a lightly floured surface with a lightly floured rolling pin. (If dough is very elastic, cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rest 3 minutes.) Sprinkle dough evenly with cumin seeds and gently press into dough with pin. Cut dough into 1/2-inch wide strips and arrange on baking sheet about 1/2 inch apart. Bake in oven until golden, about 15 minutes.
While breadsticks bake, mince garlic and mash to a paste with a rounded 1/4 teaspoon salt, then combine with oil. Immediately after baking, brush breadsticks with garlic oil. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Make ahead: Breadsticks can be baked 1 day ahead, without brushing with oil, and kept in an airtight container at room temperature. Reheat in a 375 oven, about 4 minutes, then brush with oil. Garlic oil can be made 1 day ahead and kept chilled. Bring to room temperature before brushing on breadsticks.
