Ingredients

Serves:

Directions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Meanwhile, in the bowl of a food processor, combine olives, basil, parsley, walnuts, garlic and pinch salt; blend until finely chopped. With machine running, add 3 tablespoons oil in a slow stream. Blend, scraping down sides once, until smooth and well combined. Set pesto aside.

Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente. Reserving 3/4 cup pasta cooking water, drain pasta, transfer to a large serving bowl and immediately toss with remaining 2 tablespoons oil. Add pesto and half of the pasta cooking liquid to bowl; toss to combine. Zest lemon over pasta, add tuna and toss to combine. Add more pasta cooking liquid to moisten pasta, if desired. Season pasta with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately with cheese for sprinkling.

It's obvious that this is high in fat (and therefore calorie) content; but a little goes a long way. All things in moderation. I would ballpark the "sauce" (sans tuna) at about 100 - 125 calories/tablespoon. Eat accordingly, and enjoy - or just skip this recipe!

Pretty great for a grad student with zero time to cook like myself. I made it with whole wheat pasta. I also cooked the entire box of pasta and triplet the recipe, and I just grab a few cups of pasta, toss on the pesto, nuke it - and lunch!

Olives, tuna, nuts, and olive oil are all good for you! Naturally in moderation, as everything. If you are on a diet and concerned about calories, make your own substitutions. For example use tuna packed in water(BLAH!). I'll try whole wheat pasta.

Kidding right? Nutritional values? If you need to know, check all your ingredients before making. Yes, cheat, go w/ ready made pesto. And like everthing else, if you have to know how much (cals), you probably can't afford it. sub chicken for tuna

Please boycott tuna. Thousands of Dolphins are murdered every year as they get caught in the tuna nets. The fisherman are supposed to let them go, but they don't because they see the Dolphins as a threat because they eat tuna. This must be STOPPED.

I Agree with all previous comments....I'd like to know the number of calories in such an oil-packed recipe.
